So what size should you choose? It depends on your snake. The smaller the snake, the smaller the snake enclosure can be. If you are purchasing one of the giant breeds, large snake cages are the only option.
Guidelines for Choosing a Snake Enclosure
Here are a few tips for choosing the right snake enclosure for your pet:
1. As a general rule, the snake terrarium should be at least as long as your snake. However, there are exceptions for some of the giant breeds such as pythons. These snakes tend to be less active and will do fine in a smaller snake enclosure. If you want to purchase an exceptionally large snake terrarium, consider custom snake cages which can be made to fit any length you prefer.
2. Longer is better. Your snake enclosure does not need to be exceptionally tall, since snakes are quite short. However, they do need a substantial width. This enables your snake to stretch out.
Avoid a Make-Shift Snake Enclosure. Some people may be tempted to turn a box or tub into a snake tank. However, this is a mistake. It is much better to purchase a snake enclosure that is professionally made. Cages By Design has an expert design team that has spent years engineering a cage system that promotes the health, happiness & wellbeing of your snakes. They have hired nearly a dozen engineers, conducted extensive analysis and computer testing to ensure their snake enclosures are durable, functional and secure.
